Another great Matarangi Fire Force Ambrose Tournament last Friday with 26 teams playing in testing, windy conditions.
The course was set up beautifully by Greens’ Superintendent Neil Tombs and his crew and as usual organisation by Paul Shaw and St Arnold along with help from a number of brigade members ensured a smooth event.
Winners were the CJ Moas team of Rhys Mathias, Stew Green and Harry Karl, all Dunes members. As Stew is a serving policeman in Auckland they also get their names on the Malcolm Spry Memorial Trophy which resides permanently in the fire station.
Second was Two and a Half Men: Brad Gould, Kevin Gould and Darryl Walker with The Deputies: Paul Saw, Brian Shaw and Gavin Allden third.
Other results were:
Longest drive men – Jay Knight. Longest drive women – Ann McDonald
Nearest the pin men – Kevin Gould. Nearest the pin women – Shelley James
