The St Andrews bunker on the second hole has been reconstructed and remodelled. The bunker itself is shallower then before but the surrounds now have a false front which will trap the unwary. While the bunker is still playable, the surrounds, which have been seeded, are GUR until further notice.
We only had 35 entries at the end due to late cancellations. Apart from strong winds, weather conditions were better than expected. Thanks to Neil Tombs and the boys the course was in beautiful condition and players enjoyed their game at The Dunes Matarangi. Resultsof the day: Men Division 1[…]

The greens re-generated very quickly. On Thursday (Ladies day and 9-hole members) it was about 45% playable. This was a great recovery within a very short period of time. Putting was interesting with both Wednesday and Thursday competitions using the two-putt maximum rule.
Coring of the greens has commenced. We are solid tining the greens with 24mm tines at 20cm deep. We will then incorporate volcanic rock at 20kg/100sqm with sand aid and Solucal at 2kg/100sqm. Then 30 tonne of sand will be applied. Rolling and mowing of greens 20 May – 28 May. The[…]
