Last weekend we hosted the prestigious Garrard Shield and Ralph Cup inter-provincial tournament for the top eight seniors and four juniors from Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Northland.
The 48 players and their managers took over the course and in less than perfect conditions showed how good our top amateurs are.
The Garrard Shield was shared by Bay of Plenty and Northland with Waikato and Auckland two points adrift.
The Ralph Cup was won by Bay of Plenty.
The players and managers were unanimous in praising the course and how it was set up by Greens Superintendent Raymond Fanning and his team.
