The Dunes has been a must-play course on the serious golfers’ itinerary for almost three decades. Its sand base provides the ideal all-weather facility and when combined with the challenging layout, the course is one every golfer should put on their bucket list.

Course Update on 23rd April 2026

After the recent wind and rainstorms, the course has dried out particularly well apart from the low-lying area on 16th fairway.

We are conditioning the greens with verti-cutting and needle tine aeration to help improve surface and root zone aeration. This will be followed by sanding to help promote firmer, faster and true putting surfaces.

The new greens are continuing to mature and will need more time to grow-in due to the ‘slow to grow’ nature of brown top turfgrass. Once fully established in the spring we will be able to play on them permanently.

Tee booking - Cancellation policy

You may cancel your booked tee time online up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled tee time.  Please note that cancellations made within 24 hours of your booked tee time will incur the full booking fee.

This policy is in accordance with GOLF NZ Terms and Conditions.

*Course Marshall’s will be monitoring the course to ensure green fees have been paid and players are adhering to the rules and a steady pace of play.
