The Longest Day Golf Challenge
Join Rob Stevens and his group of 8 friends as they play The Dunes Golf Course, Matarangi on Friday, 15th Dec, from 5.45am, playing 72 holes in one day to raise money for the Cancer Society.
Every dollar raised will go towards cancer care across New Zealand which includes education and awareness programes, and research. If you can donate to the cause, then please use the link below.

Rob says “When my friends approached me to join them in participating in the Longest Day Golf Challenge, I immediately thought of my favourite golf course - The Dunes (of course it being flat had nothing to do with it!). The Dunes has really gotten on board with this and is taking care of the green fees and any cart fees for which, we are very grateful. A few of us will be looking to walk the majority of the rounds - but it will depend on how the bodies hold up as to whether we need to do a couple in carts!
We are hoping to be on our final round, on the 18th sometime between 8pm - 8:30pm. It would be fantastic if some of the locals would be there to see us come in and share in a few beverages afterwards.

We have some exciting news from The Dunes!
Yellow tee blocks
We are delighted to announce the introduction of a new set of yellow markers on the course, the Junior/Novice tees. A shorter course to cater for (but not limited to) juniors starting out in the game. The yellow tee blocks will be on the course after this weekend, so we look forward to seeing the juniors and those learning to play using them.
Beginner golfers are welcome to use these tees and families can utilize the tees to help coach novice golfers and have a fun round of golf whilst doing so. This course is handicap rated having individual playing handicaps adjusted to suit the course. So, if you have the shanks, you could now play the novice track, boost your confidence, hit the fairway, get it on the green and make the putt.
At the Dunes Golf Club, we would like to see you learn to play the game, improve your golf, and lower your score.
